Castle Peeps: Royal Sampler
Almost finished! I was able to re-transfer the King and musician by cutting around them and re-ironing. This pattern is a LizzyHouse pattern and has been fun to stitch. I have definitely improved my satin stitch technique (fill-in stitch used on the letters and boots...some parts of the castle). In the future I won't outline them with back stitch but that was suggested for beginners. :) Next time I show you this it will be matted and framed!

Super Sophia!
I stitched this up this afternoon for my sweet little Sophia who I have a few days a week after school. I let her choose the colors and used a stencil I bought at Michaels this weekend. I'll admit I got (stole) the idea from Digs Studio where they are selling similar (Smaller) things for around $10. She seems to like it. Now I want to make some for the other kids :)

First works Sept 29, 2012 to present
These are what I've done in the last two weeks since I took an embroidery class at a local craft shop. The Fox came as a kit from the store and features several different stitches. I'm currently working on the castle sampler that I purchased a couple of years ago to make for my younger son. It's almost done and I'm very excited! I may have to re-transfer the King and court jester as they didn't imprint very well when I ironed it on the first time. I'm worried a bit about the overlapping that may occur but as it is now I can't really see them and don't want to free hand draw it or stitch it. I know that in time the image will fade if some of it shows in the background or I can use some extra satin stitch if needed. The iPhone was designed by my 7 year old. I thought it would be fun to stitch it onto one of his shirts. He loves it and I love that we did something together. I know this has been a mishmash of things in one post but I just wanted to get something on here and I'm going to try really hard to keep up with this blog. I'll tell you later why I chose the BFF theme for my blog title.
